About an hour north of philly

I have always been interested in family videos and photos. This interest in looking back on memories has led me to explore the themes of change in relationship to my family in my drawings.

My family moved from Pennsylvania to Missouri when I was 12. As all my extended family is on the East Coast it was difficult to be away from them. The move clearly separated my childhood into two parts, my Missouri childhood and my Pennsylvania childhood. Now, my sister has kids, and family members are moving on to different stages in their lives. Seeing my nephews live their early years and myself graduating has caused me to reflect on the years of my childhood. Through my work, I hope to express a sense of nostalgia and love for my family as I represent my childhood in Pennsylvania from the mid-2000s.
